A catalog list isn’t a solution to your problem.

Most roller shops will show you their equipment. That tells you what they own. It doesn’t tell you whether they can fix the roller that keeps failing in the same position on your line.

The five solutions below are how we work, not what we own. Each one starts from the same place: what is failing, what your process actually demands, and what it will take to make the roller stop being a risk. Most jobs use more than one, like a recover that needs a new compound, or a fabrication that needs a reverse-engineered design. You don’t have to know which one you need. That is what the evaluation is for.

Reverse engineering from a worn roller, a spare, or a sketch on a napkin. Precision grinding to the tightest tolerances in the industry, then verified before anything ships, so the geometry on your roller is the geometry on the report.

Surface finish is critical to your specific product. Finish, hardness, and coating are engineered to what your process demands, from mirror finishes for transfer-critical work, to hard chrome for wear and release, to textured surfaces for grip. Material Development

We develop and own our rubber formulas, milled and batch-tested in our own lab, engineered to your chemistry, temperature, and wear demands rather than pulled off a shelf in a stock durometer. On a recover we can lab-match your incoming material, or improve on it, which is usually where the wear-life gain comes from.

Recover & Repair

Bring the roller you already have back to spec.

Getting one month out of a roller that should last three? The fix usually isn’t a new roller. It is the right compound on the one you have. We strip, re-cover, grind, and finish back to spec, repair damage we find on inspection, and either match your existing material or engineer a longer-lasting one. For a fraction of replacement cost, and often with better wear life than what you had.

Roller solutions: common questions.

Should I recover a roller or replace it?
If the core and journals are sound and the design still fits the application, recovering is almost always the better economics. You keep the core and get a fresh, correctly specified cover for a fraction of replacement cost. Replacement makes sense when the core is damaged beyond repair, or when the design itself is what’s failing. An evaluation tells you which in one visit.
How long does a roller recover take?
Typically about three to four weeks for a recover, depending on size and current shop load. New fabrications generally run longer: roughly a month for straightforward builds, and up to two to three months for complex ones. Expedite is available on request and review.
Do you make custom rollers, or only standard sizes?
Almost everything we do is custom. Tell us your application parameters (speed, temperature, chemistry, loading, tension) and your dimensions, and we engineer to them.
Can you make a roller without a drawing?
Yes. We reverse-engineer from a worn roller, a spare, photos, or a sketch, and we produce an approval drawing you sign off on before we build. You end up with documentation you didn’t have before. See Engineering →
Can you match the rubber compound we’re using now?
Yes. On an incoming recover we can cut a sample and lab-test it to match your existing material, or recommend a better-performing formulation if what you’ve been running is what’s cutting your wear life short. See Material Development →
