At ABBA, compound to finished roller happens in one building — our own lab, our own fabrication, our own grinding and inspection. That's not a convenience. It's why we can hold the tightest tolerances in the industry, prove them before the roller ships, and control the lead time you're quoted.

§2 — The Reframe

A list of machines doesn't tell you whether the roller holds. Owning the whole process does.

Any shop can publish a capabilities list. What that list can't tell you is whether the compound was engineered for your process, whether the tolerance was verified or just quoted, and whether one vendor's schedule is about to blow up another's lead time.

When the materials science, the design, the fabrication, the grinding, the finishing, and the inspection all live under one roof, three things change: the compound is matched to the roller by the people who formulate both, the tolerance is verified by the people who ground it, and the lead time is one schedule, not four. That control is the capability. Everything below is how it's built.

Capabilities — common questions.

What size rollers can you make?
We fabricate and recover rollers across a broad range of diameters and face lengths; tell us your dimensions and we'll confirm fit. Most of what we do is custom.
What tolerances can you hold?
As tight as 0.0003″ cylindricity, 0.0002″ TIR, and 2–4 RMS mirror finishes, with every critical tolerance verified by non-contact laser mapping before the roller ships.
Are you ISO certified?
Yes — we work to ISO 9001:2015, with AQL C=0 inspection and full traceability from compound batch to finished surface.
Do you make custom rubber rollers, or only standard sizes?
Almost everything we do is custom. Tell us your application parameters — speed, temperature, chemistry, loading, tension — and your dimensions, and we engineer to them.
Are your rollers made in the USA?
Yes — engineered and manufactured domestically, which is increasingly why customers who've lost an overseas or aging local source come to us.
Do you manufacture the rubber compounds yourself?
Yes. We develop and own 2,000+ formulations, milled and batch-tested in our own lab — which is what lets us match (or improve on) the compound for your specific process.
Can you reverse-engineer a roller with no drawing?
Yes — from a worn roller, a spare, photos, or a sketch. You get an approval drawing to sign off on before we build, so you end up with documentation you didn't have.
